Desert Fishing Lessons merges Adam’s PhD-related work in the Lake Eyre Basin, Queensland with his previous studies in western New South Wales, going as far back as his adventures in the Kimberley in Western Australia in the early 1990s.

The book combines science, natural history and autobiography and received a  certificate of commendation at the Whitley Awards in 2012 in the popular zoology category.
